CHAPTER 30

PUBLIC PARKS

30.01 Public Park Regulations. It shall be unlawful for any person to commit any of the following acts in or upon those areas in the Town of Wilson designated as public parks or Town cemeteries.

  1. Loitering after closing. To park any vehicle or to loiter or lounge in or upon such grounds between the ours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
  2. Damage to property. To soil, deface, injure, damage, upset or destroy any public building, fence, bench, table, tree, bush or other objects situation, used or kept upon such public grounds.
  3. Operation of vehicles. To operate any vehicle upon such public grounds except for service and maintenance vehicles or to park any vehicles upon such grounds except with the limits of clearly marked parking areas.
  4. Dangerous weapons. To carry, keep or use any dangerous weapon, including firearms, bow and arrow, sling shot, gun or other shooting device upon such public grounds.
  5. Fires. To build any fires upon such public ground except in fireplaces provided for such use.
  6. Littering. To leave, throw, or break any bottle, box, can or other objects upon such public grounds except in clearly marked refuse receptacles provided for that purpose.

30.015 Exceptions. Temporary exceptions to Sections 30.01 (a) and (d) may be granted by the Town Board with such restrictions, conditions and limitations as the Town Board may determine.

30.02 Use by Organizations. Any organization using public grounds or stands, shall police and clean each area.

30.03 Additional Regulations. The Town Board may prescribe such additional regulations concerning the use of Town parks and public grounds and such additional regulations shall be in full force and effect upon posting in the premises to which the same are applicable.

  1. Hardball prohibited. Playing of hardball for individual practice or in an organized game in Firemen’s Park and Jung Bell Tower Parks shall be prohibited.

Penalty. Any person violation the provisions of this Ordinance shall be fined not less than Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) nor more than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per incident.

Effective Date. The herein Ordinance shall take effect upon enactment and publication.
