Town of Wilson, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin

Town Points of Interest

Located on the western shore of Lake Michigan, immediately south of the City of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, the Town of Wilson offers a beautiful rural residential area with city convenience just a few minutes away. From rolling sand dunes to verdant farm land, the town is a delightful combination of homes, small business, light industry and agriculture.

The Town of Wilson is a community of approximately 3,500 residents and approximately 23 square miles, located to the south and southwest of the City of Sheboygan. The town consists of large tracts of agricultural land, natural conservation areas and scattered residential areas. A more densely populated residential area exists in the northeast quarter of the Town and is commonly referred to as the ‘Black River Area’.

Located in the town's southeast corner is Terry-Andrae State Park. The park offers miles of hiking/biking trails in summer, cross-country ski trails in winter and horseback riding trails all year long. The Sanderling Nature Center provides educational and recreational programs throughout the summer. Biking is also available on an extensive bike trail that winds through the town.

The Town has adopted a Long Range Land Use / Development Plan on which decisions made by the Town Board, generally based on recommendations from the Town Wilson Plan Commission, are reached. Service and commercial businesses are primarily located on and near the CTH OK corridor. There is limited industrial development.

The community is serviced by Interstate 43, Wisconsin State Highway 28 and the Union Pacific Railroad. Each runs through or adjacent to the Town.
